VM: What is the hardest part of being a designer? / ¿Cuál es la parte más dificil de ser un diseñador de modas?
RP: I don’t think that there is anything hard of being a designer, It depends of how you approach your career, personally I think that sometimes we are so focused in the goal that we forget to enjoy the journey. / Realmente no creo que haya algo “dificil” en el ser un diseñador de modas, depende cómo te acerques a tu carrera, el punto de vista con el cual la enfoques, personalmente creo que a veces estamos tan enfocados en la meta que nos olvidamos de disfrutar el viaje.
VM: Then, what about the best part of being a designer? / Entonces, ¿Cuál es la mejor parte de ser un diseñador de modas?
RP: The best part of being a designer is, to be able to have a point of view and express everything through your work. It’s loving what you do and taking your ideas from your concept into your costumers. If you love design, then; there’s your answer. / La mejor parte de ser diseñador de modas es la posibilidad de tener un claro punto de vista y expresarlo a travès de tu trabajo. Es amar lo que haces y transportar tus ideas del concepto a tus clientes.
VM: One of the things I admire the most about you is that you do a lot of charity work, why do you believe it is important for a designer to take part in charities? / Una de las cosas que màs admiro de tì es que llevas a cabo muchas obras de beneficiencia, ¿Por qué consideras importante como diseñador el involucrarte en organizaciones, fundaciones y eventos de este tipo?
RP: When “I give”, “I receive”, and helping others is a cause close to my heart. Part of my dream and happiness is to support those who need it the most and I believe that’s the most important reason for other designers to partner with various charity organizations worldwide. / Cuando “doy”, “recibo”, y ayudar a otros es una causa muy cercana a mi corazón. Parte de mis sueño y de mi felicidad es apoyar a esas personas que lo necesitan màs y creo profundamente que esa es la razón màs importante para que otros diseñadores se relacionen y creen alianzas con variadas organizaciones benéficas en todas partes del mundo.
